Sprag Clutches.
« on: May 19, 2017, 10:04:00 AM »
Renold have contacted me to inform me that there will be a minimum order of £150 as of 1st June 2017
I purchased a couple of sprags from them last year, the unit cost was £46.72 + VAT so it looks like a minimum order of three from now on.
Can one ever have too many sprag clutches?

Not at all... always worth having a spare on the bike as you never know! I worked on the premise that if I had one I not need it - that didn't really work!  Therefore, you can never have enough.

Hi Folks;

Just FYI, I have stock of V1000 sprags again.  I buy them 10 at a time, so the price is right.  I know folk like to keep one in the tailpiece, so it's important that they're properly packaged (they come to me wrapped as a single pack of 10) so I'm just waiting on boxes.

If you have the box from an old sprag and you want to buy a new one from contact me and I'll get a price to you.  You can send me the box with your cheque. :-)

Failing that, the new boxes will be here soon and I'll be able to provide a price for the complete package then.

Let's keep these V's on the road, eh..?

OK Ian.

The last quote I got locally (Glasgow) was from Eric's in Govan...  They quoted £90-odd plus VAT, plus another £20 (plus VAT) to move the part (in their own van) between Birmingham and Govan.  I went elsewhere...

I suspect your £42 will be plus VAT, so £50.40, meaning a minimum (inc VAT) order of £302.40 (for 6).

That's why I started to source parts outside UK.  I've sourced steering head bearings, indicator units and footrest rubbers in USA, sprags, shock absorber spares and clutch plates in Europe and all at prices much better than in UK (even with exchange rates and import taxes, etc, taken into account).

I'm happy to post HOC members a sprag @ £50 inc postage and packing to UK addresses.  £45 collected (remember, Glasgow) and I currently have eight in stock.   Happy to get a quote for EU/RoW members, but some locations will attract BIG shipping costs.
