Hi Chris, it's the Boneville and Thruxton carb models that used this Gille setup. Spares available online from British Legends in France.

Maintenance, Repairs, Upgrades and Improvements / Re: Ignition systems

Hi Jeff thanks for the offer, I'm still battling with GILL and Triumph, both being very less than helpful.
GILL now admit they made some igniters for Hesketh after telling me they didn't, but that they are the same as the GP4 igniter they make for Triumph, but they won't sell me one because they are under obligation to only supply them to Triumph.
Triumph have told me that they use the GP4 igniter on some of their carburetted Bonneville range but won't tell me which ones, only that I can buy a new igniter from one of their stockists.
It's great to know that these companies can be so helpful
Requests for Help and (Hopefully) Answers / Hesketh in Germany

Dear Members,

Dave has informed me about other Hesketh owners in Germany (so I am not alone).
I live in Berlin and would like to get to know the German owners, who might be nearer than the island.

Feel free to contact me directly:

Regards Volker

Hi Volker,
Welcome to the Forum.
First of all, you are not alone in Germany, as we have long time owners of Heskeths who are also club members in Germany, as well as NL, Switzerland, Norway and the rest of the world. In 2012 we had a European trip which ended in Heidelberg and three German members were present. This year our summer rally was to Switzerland to a club member and again we met with Dutch and German members en route.
Paint is tricky as the bikes are 35 years old. Most of the original paint was done by Dream Machine in Nottingham UK which still exists, but as the paint fades over time and there were several shades of red on orginal Heskeths, it's often better to match the paint colour to the existing bikes other parts.
The tank decals are available to club members from our spares secretary. Make sure your painter knows that the cockrel points forwards - we have seen bikes where the decais have been put on backwards when a tank has been re-sprayed, not good when you have spent money on a paint job!
Club membership application forms are on the website. We need payment in pounds sterling and you can pay by bank transfer. Or you can pay by PayPal if you prefer, contact me for details.
Best regards
Dave H, club secretary.

Hi dear Members, Greeting from Berlin!

now my Hesketh is on the road again after many years of storage. It might be the only one in Germany.
The paint is in good shape apart from the tank.
It is the usual dark red colour.

Since I want to have it repainted. Is there a paint code or shall I take the fenders as a sample?
Are the decalls (code of arms) for the tank still available over the HOC?

Any answers very welcome.

Regards Volker

Hesketh-Related Chat / H24 News

Just a hint.

Maybe consider dropping the News about the H24's, and distancing the HOC from this subject until things have been sorted?

Thanks Dave,

Quite an old video then because it runs nicely now, and new Renstar rear wheel fitted with parts I supplied, along with the exhaust...

Bonhams catalogue will be available soon, hopefully with some details of the other one....

See you at Stafford hopefully.

Came back from holiday just in time for this local event. Met at a garden centre for a mass ride into Hornsea, East Yorks. Approx. 250 bikes, all makes, all sizes and 1 Hesketh. Small funfair, food vans, live bands, bike show, bike related stalls, and lots of bikes.

Hi Rob,

The "wesellclassics" Hesketh is local to you, owned by a club member who has regularly used it for many years, so it's a good EN10 Hesketh. Needs cleaning, but that's easy and it does come with a full stainless steel exhaust system, still in the box.

The Bonhams hesketh does not show a reg number or frame/engine number, so I can't help with that one.

Best regards
